This is a project for the woodworking rookie.  This free plan for a baseball cap rack is great piece for the enthusiast of the national pastime.  It holds up to eight baseball caps and looks fantastic.

It is recommended to either use pine or maple for the wood.  Here is the list of materials you will need to collect:

  • Post: 1 x 4 at Five-Foot (4)
  • Base: ¾” x 36” x 36” Veneered Plywood (Match Veneer to Wood Chosen)
  • Tenon: 1-1/2” Diameter x 6” Dowel
  • Baseball Dowel: ½” Diameter x 2” Dowel
  • One Regulation-Size Baseball
  • 1-5/8” Drywall Screws (4)
  • 1-1/4” Drywall Screws (4)
  • Shaker-Style Pegs 3-1/2” Long (8)

The tools required are as follows:

  • Combination or Try Square
  • Assorted Files
  • 1” Paddle Bit
  • ½” Drill Bit
  • Phillips-Head Screwdriver
  • Handsaws
  • Hammer and Nail Set
  • Block Plane
