If you have an entry area to your home and don’t have a good place to sit down to remove your boots, consider this simple entry bench plan. The plans are utilizing stock legs and lumber that has few intricate cuts. The basics of this item are simple. You can modify the size to suit your needs and even modify the rear apron and legs to suit your “style” or aesthetic.
To me, the current plan looks a little top heavy, however that is an easy fix. Widen the base box, since the upper is a completely separate piece of the item is is rather simple to do. Or, you can widen the lower section. If you are widening the lower section, consider beefing up the structure with a vertical divider along with a leg that is centered on the piece (front to back and side to side.
Overall the plan is simple. You might want to locate a cushion that you love (consider the outdoor section at most home stores) and build the bench around the dimension of your cushion.
Good luck building your own bench. Get creative with the styling. Click the picture for the full set of plans / how-to at allcraftsblogs.com
