Don’t let the title of this wood plan fool you. This is a “simple” to build workbench, but there are some techniques that might be foreign to someone who just crafts a shelf now and then. The bench is one that is built to last for generations. The table top is made up 2 1/4″ maple that is glued up and secured with threaded rods. This a top that won’t deflect when working.
The joinery within the leg structure is also built to last. There is some mortise and tenon joinery that is ready to resist whatever force you put into it.
