Having a problem with the amount of space in your garage? Well look no further! The awesome folks at freewoodworkingplan.com have come up with a nifty idea to give you more room in your garage for atv’s, motorcycles, or just more space to store tools. The plan covers how to install the addition as well as provides images depicting and actual construction. Let’s take a closer look shall we!?

garage bump out addition plans

First things first! This project will require the need of a building permit before you begin working so keep that in mind. As for pricing, be prepared to fork over about 2000 bucks, unless you know a guy who owes you a couple favors. The time frame for this one can run from a couple weekends to a month depending on whether you decide to do what the plan did in the interior or not. They made sure that the inside was furnished and had a nice flooring on it before calling it done which isn’t necessary but sure does look nice!

The list of tools isn’t too bad. According to the plan you’ll need to be sure that you have…

  • Basic set of carpentry tools
  • hammer drill
  • ladders or scaffolding
  • reciprocating saw

Make sure that for this one that you know what you’re doing, or at least get a contractor who know what they’re doing if you don’t.  The plan calls for the demolition of a part of the wall of the garage in order to build the extension and if you don’t know exactly what you are doing you could endanger yourself or the life span of the building itself.  Don’t be afraid to ask for help!  The plan shows without much confusion how to accomplish the task in a very organized and neat format making it easy to successfully install the extension.  Be careful, but have fun, and as always, stay crafty!
