Book cases can be really boring looking. Well at least they used to! Thanks to Cher Texter, who posted the plan on designstudioc.com, you can spice up your home with this extremely unique and interesting book case. Give your favorite books a home worthy of how much you love them and while you’re at it you can do some good for the planet and recycle that old door you’ve had lying around. I don’t recommend ripping your door off it’s hinges for this project, but if you really want one you can get them from Lowes.

This project is great for anyone who wants to do their planet good and reuse instead of throwing something away. Other than throwing your door away, this plan will help show you how to chop it to bits and recombine it into a very unique and interesting addition to your home. It is a fairly simple project over all and only calls for a few items:

  • Solid Wood Door
  • (2) 1/2″ Pocket Hole Screws
  • Kreg Jig
  • Scrap Pieces of 1×2’s
  • Scrap Pieces of Plywood
  • (1) 1/4″ Brad Nails

Just think of the all that wood that could be used for something instead of just sitting around.  This corner book shelf has a really interesting look to it and will surely spark some conversation with company.  Next thing you know they’ll be begging for you to tell them how you made such an exquisite piece of art.  So hurry up, click the image for the pdf, and get cutting!
