These free plans are for a sofa table, or what also be referred to as a console table.  The plans are adaptable so that you can alter the dimensions based on your particular needs and build what suits you.  For me, the dimensions in the plans, with a top that is 16 1/2″ wide, work just fine.  The current plan calls for a table that is 74 1/2″ in length, so I think we will trim that down a bit.  A 60″ wide console table is just fine for our needs.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been asked to build a console table that utilized some timber from an old house that I renovated.  This project will be perfect for that.  Obviously I didn’t build the item yet, so the first design that I posted was clearly not the one for our space.

This plan is from Ana-White.com.  I am not sure how Ana works to find her projects, but it seems like she located someone with a post on Pinterest and designed the woodworking plan around the “project to build” post of the user.  The user story is here: The Friendly Home.

In any event, this is a great console table if you are after a rustic look.  Hillary (from The Friendly Home) utilized a nice, natural, finish method that brought out the character in the wood and made the table look beautiful and rustic.
