This Book Nook is an exceptional piece of storage and seating.  It features a bench for reading, shelves, drawers, and basket storage.  The wood work plan also provides instructions for including recessed lighting over the reading space.

It would be a great addition to any family room, or even a child’s bedroom who needs a little comfortable encouragement to study. This piece of built-in furniture is a little bit of challenge because of all the different forms of storage and the electric work, but with some patience and effort it really could transform an interior. I loved this plan so much that I decided to build a version of my own. My wife has always wanted a window seat or a banquette.  We finally have a place to execute the plan.  I modified our window seat to include storage inside the bench rather than the baskets in the plan. In addition, I am carrying the bookshelf across the entire header rather than using that section for lighting alone. I’ll include a photo once complete.
