This plan comes to us from the folks at Workbench Magazine. The plans are detailed and include an exploded view of the potting bench.

My wife loves her potting bench since it serves multiple functions. Hers is located on our patio next to our dining table. It acts as a perfect serving table or buffet when entertaining outside. The fresh look of this white potting bench would serve that purpose very well.

Cedar Potting Bench Plans

The following plan is for a potting bench that calls for cedar wood. Cedar is terrific since it is naturally resistant to the elements. It isn’t going to hold up like a pressure treated wood, but western red cedar doesn’t have all of the chemicals associated with that product. When shopping for cedar, you will probably have to call a building supply company. I prefer to use 5/4 radius edge decking for my outdoor cedar projects. It is sturdy and abundant.

On to the garden potting bench. Notice the nice design on this unit. It has a grate that acts like a flat surface and will also allow your material to be brushed through. A nice concept.
