It is summer project time and many of you are probably in the middle of building a new deck or modifying an existing one. If that is the case, you might want to read up on how to build stairs. The technique to build stairs is about the same for any project, but a refresher is always in order.

Keep it safe and have fun with your projects.

These plans are for a mirrored privacy screen and are from Home Depot. The mirrored concept is… well… interesting. If I had a small space, I would probably consider it, but without the right kind of mirror, it could pose a safety hazard. Don’t forget about the glare from the sun. Like the mirror, or not, this is a nice simple plan.

Here are some free fence gate plans. Eventually, even the most well made fence gate will break down, fall apart, sag, etc. If this is the case with yours, maybe it is time for a replacement.

These plans also give you advice on hanging your gate. Obviously this is something that you will skin with material that matches your current gate, or fence. Heck, while your at it, you might want to consider a whole new fence for your yard.

This is a simple plan for a wishing well planter. This is a nice garden or yard ornament and could be scaled to be a large size project. The roof is made of cedar shingles and the body of the wishing well can be made from cedar, or pressure treated lumber. Enjoy this wood project.

More planter box plans. We posted earlier about a set of planter box plans from Black and Decker.
This is a slightly different style, but has the same simple construction. These planter boxes are constructed of 2″x4″ and 2″x2″ lumber along with some basic deck screws and nails. There isn’t a lot to the construction, yet the horizontal design gives it a unique look.

Good luck with all of your outdoor projects this season and please let me know if there is a free wood plan you need. I will locate and post the following day.

Yesterday, we featured a straight footbridge plan. Today we have 2 separate arched foot bridge plans. The second plan (below) can be modified to cover just about any span. It is a very interesting bridge structure.
Good luck with these great backyard garden bridges. Send in your own pictures and we will include an article about your project on woodworkcity.com.

This arched bridge plan can be modified to meet the span that you need to cover. Quite an interesting bit of engineering, yet very straightforward to build. I encourage you to look at these plans even if you aren’t going to use them. Knowing the construction method will make you a better builder.

If you are looking for a garden bridge that does not have an arch, take a look at the straight garden bridge plans from yesterday.
