These bookcase plans are a great example of how easy it can be to build a carcass of any size that can be dressed up with trim, finished and look like a $500 piece. The example show might fall a little short of that, but once you have the construction basics, you can trim out the carcass and end up with a beautiful piece.

Workstation Plans

Computer desk
This is a workstation, computer desk, or task desk that is made from 1 single sheet of 4′ x 8′ plywood. The final width is 32″ and usually enough for a simple workstation. This is a terrific woodworking project for a school who is looking to equip a computer lab on a budget. This is also a great project for a parent looking to build a nice starter desk for their kids room. As always, this is a good project for a parent to work on with their child.

Workstation Plans

These plans were found on a personal home page, so I hope that they last. If not, e-mail me. I have a local copy of the plan.

Baseball Coat Rack Plans

This baseball coat rack is a very cool and simple plan that your kids will love.  In fact, this doesn’t have to be just for kids.  This would make a great addition to any sports themed game room.

The coat rack incorporates a bat and ball on the peg rack for hanging coats, backpacks, etc.   This plan calls for a power planer/joiner.  Obviously this is a tool that most people don’t have.  I would bet that you could achieve a similar look by simply attaching the bat from the rear with screws.

The full plans can be found by clicking on the picture.  If you aren’t looking to build your own, the site that I am linking to offers a coat rack for sale.

Good luck.

Wooden Garbage Can Plans

Have you ever wanted a nice garbage can for your office, but couldn’t find something that was stylish and matched?  As most woodworkers know, this is the point where we usually say “I could make that”.  If you have a nice wooden desk set, it might have come with a wast basket.  However, they generally include a was basket that might hold a few pieces of paper and not the volume that most of us create after simply discarding junk mail.

Wooden garbage can

This wooden waste basket is ample in size and you could always modify the plan to make it larger or smaller.  Click the picture to reveal the full plan.
