Free bar plans seem to be one of the more common searches of people reaching woodworkcity.com. Since that is the case, I am adding another bar plan to the mix. Some of you probably already saw our earlier bar plan Many people are out there searching for free bar plans. Unfortunately, this plan isn’t entirely free. However, there is enough of a demand that I felt it would help to provide our readers with a great plan and an additional resource to enhance the bar plan.

You can purchase the complete bar plan by clicking on the above bar plan picture.

WoodShopDemos.com uses the Rockler plan to build a bar. There is nothing like enhancing a scale woodworking plan with real world pictures and comments regarding the project. You will absolutely have an easier time of things. Click on the link at Wood Shop Demos while building your real bar project. You will be happy that you did.
There is nothing like working with a wood plan that provides many detailed photographs of the project each step of the way. One of the key things is showing a picture of the setup of a saw or a tool prior to doing the job. This is a very detailed plan. It is well commented and has a good number of pictures. This bar might be considered fancy due to its raised panel design, but it really is a thing of beauty when completed.
I would rate this as a ‘difficult’ plan. Part of the reason that I would say so is because of the fact that it requires a number of tools that a weekend warrior would not have. It also requires some skill to pull some of the project off. The gentleman who built the bar even goes to the trouble of shaping his own rail. You could get away with purchasing your accessories and parts at Rockler.com. You are not compromising by doing so. The parts sold by Rockler will enhance your project and add to the professional look of your finished bar.
Good luck. This bar is a great project!!

This free bookshelf plan is for a very nice mission style (Arts & Crafts or Craftsman style) bookshelf that is reminiscent of the furniture produced by Stickly or other Roycrofter’s during the early 1900’s. If you have a love for mission style furniture, you will appreciated the simplicity of this woodworking plan. As always, this is free.

The material list is short and the skill level is beginner. Give this free wood working plan a try.

These free coffee table wood plans will help you to build a great project that should last for years. The nice part about this table is that they tabletop is hinged to allow for storage, but it does a nice job in terms of the scale. It doesn’t appear to be a clunky storage table. Take a look and good luck with this great DIY project.

I know it isn’t exactly the season to be building a project for your basement, rec room, or game room, but football season is just around the corner. So get started now and be ready. In fact, why don’t you be sure to work on the poker table as well.
The bar plans come from a Canadian plywood company. As you might expect, plywood is the core material for this bar. Honestly, any cabinet work that involves box type construction will use plywood.
There are real nice diagrams, cut lists, cutting layouts (a bonus) and expanded views of the bar to work with. You shouldn’t have trouble building this bar from these plans. They are very thorough. The real magic comes with your finishing touches. Consider some great bar hardware from Rockler Woodworking. If I was building this, I would probably use a nice granite tile for the top. Here is an article about installing granite tile countertop. You could modify the DIY article to fit your needs.

Shelves are needed in every home. If you want to know the basic construction techniques for a simple shelf unit, follow this link to DIY. You might call this a bookcase rather than a shelving unit, but to each his own.

The plans are not very comprehensive, but all is well since there is a video how-to. All the tools that are needed are a hammer, circular saw, drill, and tape measure.
Good luck with this simple shelf / book case plan.

These plans are beginner level and you will end up with a functional and fancy bench for any room in your home. Use it as a plant stand, a hall bench, or a closet bench.
This is a very versatile woodworking project. It is provided by Lowe’s and because of that, you can print the material list and head right to the store. You should be able to get most of your materials with one stop.

Review the tools needed. Most woodworkers will already have these in their shop. If not, consider a new purchase. The money that you save by building this yourself will justify the cost. At least that is what we tell our spouses.
Tools Needed
- Table saw (or circular saw with a Straightedge guide)
- Miter saw (or handsaw with miter box)
- Router with cove and bead bit
- Power sander and various grits of

This is a very contemporary lamp that probably won’t fit with every decor, but it is more a piece of art than it is a crafty woodworking project. With the right care, construction, and quality material choices this could end up on antiques road show in 50 years. Make the lamp unique and make it your own. Choose quality components and you will have a one of a kind heirloom.

Good luck.

The poker craze may have died down a little bit, not much, but if you have a neighborhood poker game, or know an avid poker player, this is a great project. These poker table plans come from a guy named Ryan who has 4 different styles on his site (similar, but different). It is nice because Ryan isn’t trying to sell you anything, he is just providing a nice “how to” for building your very own poker table.

He has detailed pictures and instructions for 4 different tables (as of this writing on 2/16/2007). He also provides links to supply companies for the various poker table parts.
As Mike Sexton (or the tournament director) would say, Shuffle up and deal!

Here is a cigar humidor plan from back in Popular Mechanics from 1999. Much like the dresser valet plans from a few days ago, this is basic box construction. Once you learn the techniques, you will be able to build any number of projects with the skills that you learn.
This cigar humidor is beautiful. The plans call for the use of Mahogany and I would strongly recommend that you use that as your wood selection. Mahogany is a rich looking wood and is the ideal lumber to use for a humidor.
The humidor plans call for a size for approximately 50 cigars. You will need a hygrometer to be sure that your relative humidity is about 70%. You can purchase a hygrometer at Rockler Woodworking.
This is a fun project. Even if you don’t use the case for cigars, this is a great plan to consider. If you are a woodworker who is looking for a project that you can build and sell on Ebay, consider the humidor.
- There is a reasonable market for humidors.
- People aren’t just shopping price with this item. They want something unique and high quality.
- It is an easy item to pack and ship anywhere in the world.
Good luck building your own humidor.
