Garden Shed Plans

This garden shed is very functional and not so large that it overwhelms your yard.  This is a relatively easy project, and if you haven’t built a structure before, might make you realize just how easy it can be (assuming you follow the proper steps).

The plans are detailed and provide a step by step photo gallery.  If you are like me, this kind of visual is an immense help.

Redwood Fence Plans

A must read if you are building or installing your own fence.

I am happy that I came across this site. If you are putting up a fence at your home or business, you are probably aware of the high cost of a relatively straightforward design. Calredwood has a number of fence plans that you can execute on your own. The designs range from basic to beautiful. If you have ever considered building your own fence, I encourage you to view the plans below (click the link or the image).

Redwood is a gorgeous material and is naturally resistant to rot and decay. If redwood is too expensive in your area, you might want to consider red cedar or white cedar.

These plans are 17 pages of terrific content.  They cover topics such as the layout of your fence, installation, finishing, and even gate and hardware options.

Aldo Leopold Bench Plans

Aldo Leopold Bench

The Aldo Leopold bench is a very simple, yet classic, bench for any yard, park, deck or patio.  This bench is simple to build and uses a small amount of material.  Perhaps this is what makes it a favorite of conservationists.

You can build the entire bench with as few as 2 2″x10″ boards (with cutting).  You can customize the length to suit your needs.

Good Luck.  The full plans are found after clicking on the picture.

Baseball Coat Rack Plans

This baseball coat rack is a very cool and simple plan that your kids will love.  In fact, this doesn’t have to be just for kids.  This would make a great addition to any sports themed game room.

The coat rack incorporates a bat and ball on the peg rack for hanging coats, backpacks, etc.   This plan calls for a power planer/joiner.  Obviously this is a tool that most people don’t have.  I would bet that you could achieve a similar look by simply attaching the bat from the rear with screws.

The full plans can be found by clicking on the picture.  If you aren’t looking to build your own, the site that I am linking to offers a coat rack for sale.

Good luck.

Wooden Garbage Can Plans

Have you ever wanted a nice garbage can for your office, but couldn’t find something that was stylish and matched?  As most woodworkers know, this is the point where we usually say “I could make that”.  If you have a nice wooden desk set, it might have come with a wast basket.  However, they generally include a was basket that might hold a few pieces of paper and not the volume that most of us create after simply discarding junk mail.

This wooden waste basket is ample in size and you could always modify the plan to make it larger or smaller.  Click the picture to reveal the full plan.

Bat House Plans

This bat house plan is from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.  The plan is very simple and could go a long way in minimizing mosquitoes and other insects.  In fact, some bats will eat up to 2,000 mosquito sized insects in a single night.

It might take a full year for the bats to locate your bat house, but when they do, the insect population in your yard should naturally decline.

Changing Table Plans

If you are shopping for baby furniture, you will probably be surprised at the high prices for relatively basic piece of furniture. Well, a baby changing table is a great item that can be used for generations. If constructed properly, this item will double as a toddler, or teen dresser.
